500 irrigators from Ricote benefit from the adaptation of the old treatment plant for its use in irrigation (28/05/2019)

About 500 irrigators from Ricote are benefiting from the adaptation of the old Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), which stores 350 cubic meters in three days in a raft that allows them to take advantage of the resource for irrigation.

This raft, in which the Community invested nearly 40,000 euros, allows them to regulate the springs from the sites 'El Paúl' and 'Las Balsas' and are then elevated to the infrastructures of the Community of Irrigators, thereby achieving the optimal use of water and a 21 percent reduction in energy costs.

The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries acting, Miguel Angel del Amor, visited the facility today and checked the work done in the storage raft of the Community of Regantes de Ricote.

He explained that "to carry out the adaptation of this raft, cleaning tasks were carried out, as well as the removal of waste and materials stored inside the WWTP site".

Del Amor stressed that the adaptation of the main deposit has been carried out with the removal of metal structures and the demolition of concrete elements "so that once the deposits were cleared, a specific repair and repair procedure was applied. waterproofing of the same, as well as the connection between both by means of a rectangular channel of reinforced concrete ".
