| The exhibition opens this Friday, June 5, at 8:00 p.m., at the Sancho de Llamas Municipal Public Library in the town | The act will coincide with the signing of the agreement for the renovation of the permanent headquarters directed by Professor Pilar Garrido The Permanent Headquarters of the University of Murcia at Ricote collaborates in the organization of the photographic exhibition 'Trazos del islam', promoted by the Ricote City Council in collaboration with the Al Fanar Foundation for Arab Knowledge, the Spanish Observatory of Racism and the Xenophobia.
The exhibition opens this June 5, at 8:00 p.m., at the Sancho de Llamas de Ricote Municipal Public Library. This is a selection of photographs by Alfredo Cáliz that has been curated by more than thirty Muslim associations, who have highlighted the fifteen photographs that they consider best reflect the diverse and inclusive image of Muslim communities between two collections ceded to the Al Fanar Foundation for Arab Knowledge by the photographer.
The purpose of the exhibition is to create an awareness and information tool about a reality as diverse, complex and stereotypical as Islam is.
By way of traits and prints, these fifteen strokes want to awaken horizons and senses, pick up nuances, people and places, and get closer to the wealth and plurality of Muslims as part of our society.
The exhibition is accompanied by the one-hour 'Discover your own adventure' workshop,in which attendees can learn the stories behind the protagonists of the photographs in the exhibition and imagine stories playing with Story Dice.
'Trazos del islam' was launched in Madrid at the Secretariat of State for Migration (SEM) in Madrid on June 26, 2019 on the occasion of the European Congress "Workshop on synergies and good practices to tackle racism and discrimination against Muslims" .Workshop on synergies and good practices to tackle racism and discrimination against Muslims.

" Renovation of the Permanent Headquarters of Ricote Coinciding with the opening of the exhibition will take place the presentation of the renewal of the agreement of the Permanent Headquarters of university extension of the University of Murcia in Ricote.
The mayor of the town, Rafael Guillamón Moreno; Alicia Rubio, Vice-Rector for Employment, Entrepreneurship and Society; María José Portillo, director of Unimar and permanent headquarters of the UMU; and Pilar Garrido, director of the Ricote Permanent Headquarters. The permanent offices allow to establish links and forms of collaboration with the different municipalities of the Region through cultural, educational and social activities.
Currently the UMU has 34 permanent offices.
