Street Jose Antonio (24/08/2012)

"In recent days we have experienced another case of replacement of street names, citing historical memory or a loved saying the people in place, and where the name and always brings glare head replaced, even though it hardly know many of them, the mayor and councilors of the day, and this time even the village priest.

But this time something unusual happened, is that the people of Ricote, Murcia, expressed largely totally opposed to this change, and while some objected that the street was always with the long name, other realzaban the historical and patriotic Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera, who has the honor to be directed that street.

Jose Antonio, founder of the Falange in 1933, with a message of hope to the Spanish people, was vilified by the right and left, silenced by both two and almost mutually agreed between them, unjustly imprisoned, being murdered by the Marxist hordes 1936, leaving behind a work and an ideal living today, and where many dream of resurrecting the spirit against the atrocities suffered by Spain less than a century later.

Notably a phrase, and die knowing he recited:

"I wish it were my last Spanish blood been spilled in civil strife. Wish to find peace and the Spanish people, so rich in good qualities endearing, the Fatherland, Bread and Justice"

Go from these lines, our sincere congratulations to the neighbors that recognize Ricote Jose Antonio, and oppose the change of street, with the signatures for it in greater amounts than those for change, showing great respect and admiration of many a historical figure who was so muted by virtue of his work, loyalty and commitment to this his Spanish land.

Also our spirits go to them, not to give in, and get so persists street name, and thanks to his attitude discordant voice and the name of Jose Antonio, again, came to the fore in many national media.

So we look forward to walking down the street Jose Antonio, with great pride and knowing that a group of residents at the time fought for it and did not succumb.

The people have spoken, and from the phalanx of Murcia, we are with you! "
